Hello good hunter,
After diving deep into Greek mythology for my latest campaign, I couldn't resist the urge to convert one of the most iconic figures - Hades himself - into a 5e stat block.
Some of his powers were lost in translation, as if fulfills quite a few roles in the mythology, but I think the result captures his essence pretty well.
In mythology, Hades is often portrayed as stern and uncompromising, but not necessarily evil. For this stat block, though, I leaned into his more villainous aspects.
Some key features I included to reflect the myths:
His bident as his primary weapon and his helm in the form of magic immunity
The ability to summon undead and Cerberus
Powers over souls, like the "Soul Chains" ability
Take care,
